Home or hospital birth?

Have you had home or hospital births and how do you make a decision either way? If you have a hospital birth would you use a midwife or doula?

Comments

  • I've had both. I would always try to have a midwife in or out of the hospital. I would choose hospital if I was high risk, didn't have any support at home or locally. I would also choose a hospital if I was worried about anything.
  • It was easy for me to choose hospital. I've had a lot of health issues in the past, I'm having twins and this is my first birth. I also have a top notch hospital nearby that treated me before so I'm confident in my decision.
  • All things considered, it's self-evident. You're in your own home at a home birth. Your clinic either is welcoming or one of 'those' establishments.

You'll presumably have a maternity specialist at your home birth while destined to have an obstetrician as your essential birth supplier yet may have staff birthing specialists.

Truly, on the off chance that you need, need or are influenced to have stacks of restorative consideration that will be accessible in clinic not at a homebirth. Be that as it may, don't assume that you'll keep away from 'intercessions' at your home birth except if you birth as a 'Free Birth' or 'Unassisted Homebirth'. We'll discuss this in a minute.

After the birth you'll be at home, clearly, when you birth at home. A few clinics give you early release … at times as short as 6 hours after birth!
